PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a rubber composition excellent in workability such as machining, a storage modulus and a loss factor, and to provide a tire using it. SOLUTION: The rubber composition contains (B) an aromatic vinyl compound-diene copolymer of which a mass average molecular weight (polystyrene conversion measured by gel permeation chromatography) is in a range of 5,000-300,000 in (A) a rubber component, and contains (C) an additive for the rubber composition comprising a partial ester of maleic anhydride and a (poly)oxypropylene derivative.
