PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To drastically shorten a vehicle height adjusting time in a vehicle height adjusting device having main air chamber and auxiliary air chambers. SOLUTION: The vehicle height adjusting device is provided with air spring means 10 having the main chambers (11) and the auxiliary chambers (12); regulating valves 31 for opening and closing air communication between an air supply source 20 and the main chambers (11); and selector valves 33 for opening and closing air communication between the main chambers (11) and the auxiliary chambers (12). By controlling the selector valves 33 and the regulating valves 31 in accordance with a vehicle height lowering command and a vehicle height lifting command, the height of a vehicle is adjusted. Auxiliary valves 33 for opening and closing air communication between the auxiliary chambers (12) and the air supply source 20 are provided. When a traveling state determination means (CPU) determines a transition state or a stop state, the regulating valves 31 and the selector valves 33 are brought into closed positions to shut off air communication, and after the auxiliary valves 33 are brought into open positions to discharge a predetermined amount of air in the auxiliary air chambers (12) via the air supply source 20, the auxiliary valves 33 are brought into the closed positions.
