Disclosed is an N-2-(substituted pyrazoly)ethylcarboxamide derivative represented by the general formula (I) or a salt thereof. Also disclosed is a harmful organism control agent comprising the derivative or the salt thereof as an active ingredient. (I) wherein R¹ and R² independently represent a hydrogen atom, an alkyl group or the like; R³ represents a hydrogen atom or the like; Ar represents a phenyl group or the like; X represents a halogen atom, a (halo)alkyl group, a (halo)alkoxy group, a (halo)alkylthio group, a (halo)alkylsulfinyl group, a (halo)alkylsulfonyl group, an amino group, a (substituted) piperidino group, a (substituted) phenyl group, an alkoxyiminoalkyl group or the like; n represents an integer of 0 to 5; and Y¹, Y² and Y³ independently represent a hydrogen atom, a halogen atom, a cyano group, a (halo)alkyl group, an alkylcarbonyl group, a (halo)alkoxy group, an alkoxyalkyl group, a (halo)alkylthio group, a (substituted) phenyl group, an alkoxycarbonyl group, a (substituted) phenylalkoxycarbonyl group, an alkoxyiminoalkyl group, a (substituted) phenyl(C₁-C₆)alkoxyimino(C₁-C₆)alkyl group or the like.
