The valve (1) has a piezoelectric actuator (23) arranged in a valve housing (2) and an actuating unit (32), where the actuator operates on the actuating unit so as to operate a valve closure body (8) in an indirect manner. The closure body cooperates with a valve seat surface (6) at a sealing seat. A compensating unit (31) is arranged between the actuator and the actuating unit for partial compensation of thermal elongation of the housing. The compensating unit and the housing are held at a temperature of a fuel e.g. diesel, where the compensating unit is made of aluminum or alloy of aluminum.
