The drive (1) has drive wheels (4a, 4b) which are provided at two adjacent parallel shafts (2a, 2b) and overlap each other. The drive wheels are arranged such that the wheels are axially displaced with respect to each other. Guiding units (5a, 5b) are provided at each drive wheel. A traction mechanism (9) i.e. chain, is in contact with the drive wheels in a region, and the guiding units in another region. The guiding units are not connected with the shafts which are propelled. The drive wheels are arranged at the shafts.
