The analyzer for analyzing a captured fundus image comprises storage means for storing a captured fundus image, mask means for identifying a blood vessel part by image-processing the stored fundus image and masking the identified blood vessel part, luminance distribution acquiring mean for determining luminance information on all the pixels of the fundus image except for the masked part and acquiring luminance distribution information on the whole fundus image, image analyzing means for comparing the acquired luminance distribution information to a predetermined reference luminance distribution information to analyze the fundus image, and indicating means for indicating the results of the analysis by the image analyzing means.</p>
