PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a highly reliable gas blast circuit breaker which evades the generation of metallic vapor and has an excellent breaking performance without damaging the mobility of a valve even when a spring member is exposed to a high temperature gas by protecting the spring member for moving the valve from the high temperature gas in the valve structure of a puffer piston. SOLUTION: A steel cylindrical guide 41 is provided so as to cover the outer circumferential part of a coil spring 24. The cylindrical guide 41 is freely movable in an axial direction together with the extension and contraction of the coil spring 24, that is the opening/closing operation of a valve plate 23, with a spring bearing 25 as an axis.
