PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To support a spindle motor in a simple configuration with improved shock resistance in an optical disk drive. SOLUTION: The motor fixed plate with the spindle motor is attached to the base for supporting the unit mechanism, in such a manner that a portion outside of outer diameter of the spindle motor is brought into contact with the outer fringe of the base so that the portion thereof is supported by the base.
