PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a server system capable of optimizing a system capacity according to the number of users, and suppressing the deterioration of reliability for the users to the minimum. SOLUTION: A distributed server system comprises: a plurality of servers at least including a data storage means and providing the same service to the user with a card type information medium; and a gateway for registering correspondence information, where each card type information medium is associated with either one server, and routing the server corresponding to the card type information medium when access is performed from the card type information medium. When the servers are extended, the gateway additionally registers the correspondence information between the server and the card type information medium to which the server provides the service.
