LASER OSCILLATION METHOD AND LASER APPARATUS

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a laser oscillation method and a laser apparatus that can oscillate high energy pulse and oscillate laser in a wavelength area of 1.5μm or more. SOLUTION: Tm,Ho:YAG ceramics is used as a laser medium, and it is made by adding at least either of Tm and Ho as laser active ion to transparent YAG ceramics that has a garnet structure and is represented by the chemical formula, Y3Al5O12. The laser medium made of Tm,Ho:YAG ceramics is excited by an excited light of wavelength band of 750-820 nm in wavelength to oscillate laser. COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT
