PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a new halogen lamp capable of reducing the possibility of projecting an undesired image of a glass bulb, a stem bulb, etc., on an irradiated surface without reducing the utilization efficiency of the light volume and preventing halation as much as possible, when performing the stage lighting using a single lens spotlight. SOLUTION: This glass bulb 2 has shading films 11, 12 formed on its top side and sealing section side. Optimization of the condition of forming these shading films 11, 12 prevents images and virtual images of a base section 1, a sealing section 3, an evacuation chip 4, upper and lower stem glasses from being projected on the irradiation surface. The glass bulb 2 is cylindrically shaped, and a distance (g) between a filament 5' positioned at a side end of a light emitting section 9 and a location of a circumferential wall 2a of the glass bulb closest to the filament 5' is set to not greater than 6 mm, thereby preventing an image and a virtual image of the circumferential wall 2a of the bulb from being projected on the irradiated surface. This sharply decreases generation of halation without reducing the utilization efficiency of the light volume and enables preferable stage lighting to be performed in a production space such as a theater stage and a television studio.
