PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a laser survey instrument, having a more complete waterproof function by improving the waterproofing function of a waterproof means, provided in between a rotary section and a fixed section. SOLUTION: The laser survey instrument comprises a turning section 57 rotatively applying laser beams; a body section 25 freely rotatively supporting the rotating section; and sealing means 68, 69 sealing the area between the rotating section and the body section. The sealing means at least doubly concentrically comprises an annular protrusion, formed at the body concentric with the rotary center of the rotating section; and an annular recessed groove where the annular protrusion is inserted, and the turning section is provided so that a gap is formed in an area in the annular recess. The sealing means also comprises a path that is bent and formed in the radial direction by the gap; and a gap that is formed, at least at one portion in the middle of the path and has a volume larger than that of the gap.
