PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a partition device which can effectively form a wall surface at least continuous to the vicinity of a floor even if retrofitted. SOLUTION: According to the structure of the partition device, a panel 3 is formed by supporting a glass substrate 31 as a face plate by a lower frame 33, and a recess 33x for accommodating a baseboard 4 on a rear side of the glass substrate 31 up to a height higher than a lower edge of the glass substrate 31 is formed at a portion of the lower frame 33 of the panel 3. Then by mounting the recess 33x on the baseboard 4 so as to cover the same, the lower edge of the glass substrate 31 is located so as to partly cover a side surface 4a of the baseboard 4, and therefore the glass substrate 31 can be extended even to the vicinity of the floor F, which makes an impression of a front-surface glass-walled partition.
