PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a connecting implement which makes a joint gap between shield segments as small as possible after the shield segments are connected to each other during the construction of a tunnel etc. SOLUTION: In the connecting implement, a storage chamber 4 with an opened leading end is provided inside a female connecting member 1; a female locking member 12, in which a locking portion 12b is engraved on the side of an inner surface, is provided in the storage chamber 4; and a male locking member 23, in which a locking portion 23b is engraved on an outer surface, is provided at the leading end of the female connecting member 1. The male locking member 23 is inserted between the female locking members 12, so that a diameter of a locking hole composed of the female locking members 12 can be enlarged. After that, the diameter of the locking hole is reduced by means of an urging means 16, so that the locking portion 12b of the female locking member 12 and the locking portion 23b of the male locking member 23 can be meshed with each other. A nonslip member 7, which is brought into pressure contact with an outer peripheral surface 23c of the male locking member 23 so as to suppress the coming-off of the male locking member 23 when the male locking member 23 and the female locking member 12 are connected together, is provided in the storage chamber 4.
