PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a novel method for manufacturing a homo- and co-polymer of propylene by resolving problems related with single- and multi-reactor methods in preceding technologies, and further to provide a very much widely applicable method useful for manufacturing various propylene (co)polymers in a wide range. SOLUTION: The process comprises a step wherein propylene is polymerized with a co-monomer in at least one slurry reactor and at least one gas phase reactor, at least 10% of the polymer product is produced in the gas phase reactor, a step wherein a copolymer product containing un-reacted monomer is recovered from the slurry reactor, and a step wherein un-reacted monomer is not essentially recycled to the slurry reactor before the gas phase reactor, but the copolymerized product is carried to the first gas phase reactor. The method can manufacture very soft and highly randomized copolymer and a copolymer with improved impact resistance. COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT
