The method involves engaging an inking roller to a rotary plate cylinder (1). The plate cylinder rotational angle position with arising disturbing moments within the area of a channel edge of a plate cylinder channel (2) is measured by a measuring system. The measured values are supplied to a control unit, and a printing process is introduced. The current feed of a drive takes place such that the plate cylinder is subjected with the determined compensation moments during printing.
