The invention relates to a condensate evaporator with an electrically heatable accommodation chamber (10) for the water of condensation (12) which is produced in a cooling device and is to be evaporated. A design which is as compact and simple as possible is achieved in that the accommodation chamber (10) is formed by a tube section (14) on whose outer face at least one heating element (16) which is in thermal contact with the tube section (14) is arranged and at one end (18) of which an inlet (20) for the supplied water of condensation (12) is arranged and at the other end (24) of which an outlet (26) for the steam which is produced from the water of condensation by the heating element (16) is arranged. The invention also relates to a cooling device, in particular for a switchgear cabinet, having a condensate evaporator of this type.
