摘要 <P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electrolyte material being an excellent proton conductor, and having sensitivity without being excessively high for a method of manufacturing a battery; and a method of manufacturing such a material. <P>SOLUTION: This material suitable for constituting an electrolyte 306 for a fuel cell has a hydrophobic matrix comprising carbon (C), fluorine (F), oxygen (O), hydrogen (H) and silicon (Si). The material is useful for improving the performance of an electrolyte containing the material, and resultantly improving the performance of a fuel cell with such an electrolyte incorporated therein.
