<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an ink composition that exhibits suppressed drying in a nozzle and accelerated drying on an object, and a pattern-forming method. <P>SOLUTION: The ink composition (metal ink IM) comprises a metal fine particle, a dispersing medium mainly composed of water, an auxiliary dispersing agent for dispersing the metal particle in the dispersing medium, and a water-soluble polyhydric alcohol. The polyhydric alcohol is a solid alcohol in a standard state having an alcohol value of 3-6 and is contained in an amount of 5-20 wt.% based on the whole mass of the ink composition. The piezoelectric element PZ shrinks/elongates in upward and downward directions to convert the metal ink IM in the corresponding cavity 9 into a liquid droplet D of a predetermined size and ejects it from the corresponding ejection nozzle N. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT |
