PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an air conditioner improving comfortableness with the formation of a desired air current by moving an air direction changing blade driven by a complicated driving part called an arm part, accurately into a predetermined operating position. SOLUTION: The air conditioner is provided with the variable arm part 31; the wind direction changing blade 30 controlling the vertical direction of air blown off from a blowout port 6; a first driving means 34 for driving the arm part 31; a second driving means 35 for driving the wind direction changing blade 30; and a driving means control part for controlling driving of at least the first and second driving means 34, 35. When the wind direction changing blade 30 is moved into the predetermined operating position by driving the first driving means 34 and second driving means 35 by the driving means control part, the air direction changing blade 30 can be moved into the predetermined operating position after movement to a reference position.
