PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an interchangeable lens capable of speedily transmitting interchangeable information to a camera body in communication between the camera body and the interchangeable lens. SOLUTION: The interchangeable lens, having a communication function that communicates lens information with the freely removably attached camera body includes an interface logic IC for interfacing the communication with the camera body; and a memory means provided independently of the logic IC, connected to the logic IC, and stored with the interchangeable lens information. Fixing information that does not change in the same lens is assigned to the leading predetermined bytes of the interchangeable lens information, to be transmitted to the camera body, thereby obtaining a fixed information set pin group, in which levels are set so that the plurality of terminals of the logic IC are made to correspond to the fixed information. In the communication with the camera body, the logic IC reads the fixed information of the interchangeable lens, in which the leading predetermined bytes have been set in the fixed information set pin group, transmits this fixed information to the camera body, and after that, communicates with the camera body regarding the interchangeable lens information read from the memory means.
