PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a system and a method for positioning, which can be implemented easily and with high accuracy, without requiring a large space. SOLUTION: The system include a solid measuring object which is a solid measuring target; a measurement means for three dimensionally measuring the solid measuring object in a non-contact manner to acquire three dimensional data of the solid measurement object; a memory for previously storing reference information that serves as a reference in positioning between the measuring means and the solid measuring object; a deviation calculation means for calculating positional and angular deviations between the measuring means and the solid measuring object, in the coordinate system of the measuring means; a conversion means for converting the positional and angular deviations to adjustment parameters for adjustment-operation in the positioning; and an adjustment means for adjusting the position and the angle of the solid measuring object, based on the adjustment parameters.
