PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a carrier tape which can suppress fluffing or paper powder scattering that happens when a cover tape is pulled off a tape body to reduce charging at the separation of the cover tape. SOLUTION: The carrier tape 10 consists of the cover tape 20 and the tape body 11. The tape body 11 has component storing portions 12, and recessions 15 formed between the component storing portions 12 in the longitudinal direction of the tape 10. Seal portions 21 are formed on the sides of the component storing portions 12 in the width direction of the tape 10. It is preferable that the depth X of the recessions 15 is 20μm or more, and that the tape body 11 is comprised of a paper material and the recessions 15 is formed by pressing.
