PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To achieve precise sawing by stably supporting a material to be cut by a guide bar and by smoothly moving the guide bar even if the surface of the material to be cut is not flat. SOLUTION: A guiding device for chain saw has a roller 9 which rolls on the surface of the material 6 to be cut along a plane direction of the guide bar 1 when the material 6 is cut, and a supporting body 10 fitted to the guide bar 1 for rotatably supporting the roller 9. The supporting body 10 has a holding part 13 for holding the roller 9 so that the roller 9 faces the chain saw teeth 2 and that a rotating shaft 12 of the roller is orthogonal to the plane direction of the guide bar 1, and a pair of legs 14 extended from the holding part 13 and fixed to a lateral face of the guide bar 1 by bestriding the chain saw teeth 2.
