PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a ridge upper surface-leveling apparatus which can beat and shape the side surface portion of a ridge and can simultaneously horizontally level the upper surface portion of the ridge so that soil in the upper surface portion is not hardened tightly. SOLUTION: This beating type ridge side surface-shaping machine 1 manufactured by disposing ridge-beating plates 8 whose plate surfaces are laterally inclined at an angle along the inclination angle of a ridge, on the right and left sides of a vehicle body 1 equipped with rotary tines 18 having a plurality of curved tines for scraping out soil on both the right and left sides in the fronts of right and left driving wheels, disposing a support frame 7 for supporting each of the ridge-beating plates 8 on the inside of the ridge-beating plate 8, and disposing a reciprocating driving mechanism 10 for vibrating the support frame 7 in small intervals to beat the ridge with the plate surface of the ridge-beating plate 8, is characterized by fixing the base portion of a tapping member 2 laterally horizontally extended in a rear oblique direction from a near place to the front portion of the place surface of the ridge-beating plate 8 with a bypassing frame 3 for bypassing the upper portion of the ridge-beating plate 8.
