PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a magnetic resonance imaging apparatus capable of easily acquiring T1-emphasized images and collecting magnetic resonance signals at appropriate timing. SOLUTION: The magnetic resonance imaging apparatus comprises a static magnetic field forming part; a transmission part; a gradient magnetic field application part; a data collection part; and an image generation part. The data collection part collects magnetic resonance signals with a period of one divided by 2 or a larger integer of one heartbeat period of a subject as the repetition time.
