The method involves manufacturing a crank case (1) formed of under-eutectic aluminum alloy with a borehole (3) for a cylinder liner (2). The cylinder liner of a hypereutectic aluminum alloy is manufactured, and the cylinder liner is joined into the borehole. The crank case is pressed with the cylinder liner in a hot-isostatic manner until the crank case and the cylinder liner are connected with each other by diffusion bonding by their contact areas. An inner surface (2') and/or an outer surface (2'') of the cylinder liner before joining is machined into the borehole.
