A building panel e.g. window frame, door, partition, facade or similar has double-glazed (1) panels of glass or plastic. The gap between the two panels is filled with a medium (2) also incorporating structural elements (3). The structural elements modify light refraction when subject to electrical and/or thermal and/or piezo-electric effect. In addition or alternatively, the direction of light (4) refraction can be modified and regulated under these physical influences.
