In a process to manufacture a drill/milling tool the core (4) is forged with a shaft (41) and a cylinder (42) having a number of keyways (43) on the upper rim. The matching cylindrical drill head (5) is fabricated by a sintering process and incorporates a keys (52) corresponding to the keyways (43). The core (4) and drill head interlock on assembly to form a drill/milling tool (62).
