<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a case for a magnetic tape cassette which has a high sealing performance for preventing ingress of dust in a storage part storing the magnetic tape cassette, smoothly performs the locking operation, and has a higher rigidity. <P>SOLUTION: In the case 1 for the magnetic tape cassette, a lid 3 is turnably connected to a body 2, a first locking part 9 is provided on the inner peripheral surface of a lid wall part 34, and the case has an inclined surface 8a for guiding the first locking part 9 when the lid 3 is turned with respect to the body 2, and inner peripheral surfaces of lid wall parts 31-34 are abutted on the outer peripheral surfaces of wall parts 21-24.
