PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an on-board vehicle navigation apparatus for properly warning a one-handed operation in response to an operation state of a driver. SOLUTION: The vehicle navigation apparatus is provided with: a grip state detecting means for detecting a gripped state of a steering wheel in a vehicle: an improper one-handed operation recognizing means for recognizing an occurrence of the improper one-handed operation only if the grip state detecting means detects that the steering wheel is gripped by one hand and an improper one-handed operation recognizing condition is satisfied; and an improper one-handed operation countermeasure implementing means for implementing a predetermined improper one-handed operation countermeasure if the improper one-handed operation is recognized.
