PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image processor, image processing method and image processing program by means of which thumbnail image information being one of components of a document format is displayed on a display device in the same direction as a direction in which page image information is displayed. SOLUTION: The image processor is characterized in that it includes: an image reader 12 for optically reading an original; an image information generation portion 17 which generates page image information relating to the original and thumbnail image information resulting from reducing the relevant page image information in accordance with a result of reading and generates plotting instruction information for rotating the page image information in accordance with a setting value from an operation portion 11; an image information rotation portion 18 which rotates the thumbnail image information in accordance with the setting value; and an image information group generation portion 16 which generates the document format including the page image information, the plotting instruction information and the thumbnail image information in a storage portion 17.
