PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve visibility of a displayed pattern without being affected by external scenery even when an information display device is installed near a windowpane or the like. SOLUTION: The information display device is equipped with a light controlling device (10) having a transmissive scattering type light controlling region and a display device (20) that is (a) recognized as approximately transparent in a non-display state and shows (b) improved visibility only in a predetermined display portion in a display state. The light controlling region in the light controlling device (10) and the display portion in the display device (20) are disposed in a superposed position relationship with respect to the visual line of an observer.
