PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an ultrasonic probe and ultrasonic diagnostic apparatus that controls influences on acoustic properties. SOLUTION: The influences by an adhesive layer 90a on the acoustic properties is controlled, and the pulse or frequency characteristics is improved by reducing the thickness of the adhesive layer 90a above a cMUT chip 20 located in a region 23 through which ultrasonic waves pass. The adhesive layer 90a is preferably formed to be about 10μm in thickness. The upper surface of an acoustic lens 26a preferably have no V-shaped concavities. An insulating layer or a ground layer may be provided between the acoustic lens 26a and the cMUT chip 20. In addition, a smoothed resin layer may be provided to flatten a lower surface of the acoustic lens 26a while the adhesive layer 90a has a reduced thickness. COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT
