The method involves providing interactive operation of a telecommunication terminal e.g. mobile terminal (1), from the combination of a language statement and spatial movement of the telecommunication terminal. A user selects the menu option which is represented in a display of the terminal. The menu options are altered by the gradient of the terminal. The desired menu options are selected with respect to the position of a menu marker based on a gradient angle or rotation angle of the terminal. Independent claims are also included for the following: (1) a telecommunication terminal comprising a network interface (2) a software for a mobile telecommunication terminal, for operating a telecommunication terminal (3) a data carrier with a data structure for operating a terminal.
