<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce the size and the cost of a boosting choke in a high power factor switching power supply (PFC), and to reduce a loss of the power supply caused by the boosting choke and a semiconductor. <P>SOLUTION: In the switching power supply, high efficiency is achieved while reducing the size and the cost by employing a critical mode PFC of a multilevel system, reducing an iron loss by reducing a variation in voltage applied to a boosting choke, and reducing a loss of the semiconductor by holding down the voltage level. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT</p> |
