PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a manufacturing method, in manufacturing a carboxylic acid based polymer by the polymerization under the presence of a redox initiator between a hydrogensulfite and oxygen, which is reduced in the oscillation of a pipe through which the reaction fluid of a gas-liquid two-phase flow passes. SOLUTION: The manufacturing method of the carboxylic acid based polymer comprises introducing into a polymerization reactor a reaction fluid consisting of a monomer aqueous solution containing anα-unsaturated carboxylic acid or a salt thereof, an aqueous solution containing a hydrogensulfite and a gas containing oxygen and carrying out the polymerization of the monomer. In the portion 22 of the pipe which at least leads to an opened pipe end and which lets the reaction fluid of the gas-liquid two-phase flow containing the gas containing oxygen pass through, the reaction fluid passing the pipe portion 22 is pressurized.
