Disclosed is a stabilizer capable of providing a polypropylene resin (PP resin) with high thermal stability. Also disclosed is a PP resin composition having high stability into which the stabilizer is added. Specifically disclosed is a stabilizer containing a copolymer (A) which is obtained by polymerizing an unsaturated monomer mixture composed of 1-50 parts by mass of an ethylenically unsaturated monomer (a) represented by the general formula (I) below and having a piperidyl group in a molecule, 50-99 parts by mass of at least one monomer (b) selected from isobutyl methacrylates, alkyl (meth)acrylates having an alkyl group with 6-13 carbon atoms and aromatic vinyl monomers, and 0-20 parts by mass of an ethylenically unsaturated monomer (c) other than the components (a) and (b) (with the total of the components (a), (b) and (c) being 100 parts by mass).
