In an insert/detachable type cutting tool, a mounting seat has a base and a clamp piece, the base is provided with an insert-mounting base surface and a contact wall, and the clamp piece is provided with a pressing protrusion protruding toward the base and two locking protrusions protruding beyond the pressing protrusion upward toward the base. The insert has a polygonal flat plate shape, and has a nose portion protruding toward one direction when viewed from a side facing that polygonal surface and provided at its side ridge with the above cutting edge, locking portions provided on the opposite sides of the base end of the nose portion to be locked with the above locking protrusions respectively, and a contact portion kept in contact with the contact wall while facing a side opposite to the extension direction of the nose portion.
