Device (1) for engaging objects (6), such as heat exchangers of varying s izes, which comprise a bundle of feed-through tubes extending between two en d plates, the device comprises one gripper provided with: - a first and a se cond gripper arm (7), one of which is movable with respect to the other grip per arm for enclosing one object (6) therebetween; and - a driving mechanism (15) connected to one of said first and second gripper arms for closing or opening the gripper as needed, where one of the first and second gripper arm s comprises a first gripper arm part (9) and a second gripper arm part (10), which first and second gripper arm parts are pivotally coupled together, an d an adjusting mechanism (12) provided between said first and second gripper arm parts, the adjusting mechanism being arranged for adjusting the angle b etween said gripper arm parts in dependence on the diameter of the object to be engaged prior to engaging the object.
