<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a paper sheet processor to change a determination parameter as well as corresponding software or hardware before change, when changing the denomination of a bill, for example. <P>SOLUTION: When inputting the kind of bill to be processed, an MCPU 20a of a main detection control part stores denomination information sent from a main control part in a storage part 20b and, based on the denomination information stored, selects detection configuration data composed of a detection program for use in each detection unit, an FPGA program that constitutes detection hardware, and detection parameters. The detection configuration data thus selected is sent to each detection unit. Each detection unit stores the detection configuration data sent from the main detection control part in a storage part.
