<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a lossless image coding apparatus capable of performing lossless compression even in the case that non-correlated data such as white noise are inputted. <P>SOLUTION: The lossless image coding apparatus comprises: an image data storage unit 20 which converts an image signal into a digital signal and stores it; a wavelet transforming unit 30 which performs filter processing to a signal read from the image data storage unit 20; an entropy coding unit 40 which performs coding processing to an output of the wavelet transforming unit 30; a generation code amount measuring unit 70 which calculates a code amount from an output of the entropy coding unit 40; and an output selecting unit 60 which compares the code amount of the generation code amount measuring unit 70 with a data amount of image data, sends out the output of the image data storage unit 20 in the case that the code amount is larger, or outputs a coded signal of the entropy coding unit 40 in the case that the code amount is less. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT</p> |
