发明名称 METHOD FOR DRIVING PLASMA DISPLAY PANEL
摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve image display quality of even a panel having high luminance and high definition by stably generating an initialization discharge and increasing a contrast ratio. SOLUTION: A plurality of sub-fields each having a write period wherein a discharge cell to be discharged is selected and a sustain period wherein a sustain discharge is generated by the discharge cell selected in the write period a number of times corresponding to luminance weight are provided in a one-field period. In a sustain period of a predetermined sub-field among the plurality of sub-fields, a voltage for generating a final sustain discharge is applied to one of a pair of display electrodes and then a voltage which drops down to a predetermined potential with a gradient is applied, where a positive voltage is applied to a data electrode in the middle of the application of the dropping voltage after the application of the voltage for generating the final sustain discharge to the one of the display electrode pair.
