PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a rotary machine in which insulation between coils having the same phase can be obtained by a simple structure. SOLUTION: A sheet of insulating paper 30 is used to cover the internal wall surface of a slot to electrically insulating the slot from the coil. The insulating paper 30 has a folded-back portion 38 in which one part of a protrusion protruding from the slot toward the extending direction of the slot is folded back to the extending direction of a groove of the slot, and an in-phase insulating portion 40 for electrically insulating the coil inserted into the slot having the insulating paper 30 attached thereon in a portion where the protrusion is not folded back from a coil having the same phase as that of the coil inserted into a slot adjacent to the slot.
