PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a constant temperature generating device capable of reducing its weight and dimension so that it is portable, and keeping an optional low temperature zone set in an ultra low temperature zone without using a cooling medium. SOLUTION: This constant temperature generating device comprises a free piston type Stirling refrigerating machine 2 for cooling a constant temperature block 3 to a prescribed temperature, and a control device 9 detecting a temperature of the constant temperature block 3 and controlling output of the free piston type Stirling refrigerating machine 2 to keep the constant temperature block 3 in a constant temperature state, and a heat absorbing portion 4 of the free piston type Stirling refrigerating machine 2 and the constant temperature block 3 are connected by a heat transfer material 6. The heat transfer material 6 is provided with a displacement absorbing portion 7 for absorbing vibration of the free piston type Stirling refrigerating machine 2 between a connecting portion with the heat absorbing portion 4 and a connecting portion with the constant temperature block 3.
