PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a bristle material for a polishing brush and polishing brush, which effectively polish a rolling roll to be used in manufacturing processes for a metal plate without damaging the surface of the rolling roll, have superior durability when polishing the metal plate under wet conditions while spraying liquid medicines and solutions on the surface of the rolling roll, and last its polishing performance. SOLUTION: The bristle material for a polishing brush is formed by a compound monofilament having a double core sheath structure. A core section of the compound monofilament is made of a mixture of a synthetic resin and abrasive material particles, and a sheath section is made of a fluorocarbon resin.
