摘要 <p>In a process to increase the strength of lithium-alumino-silicate glass ceramic, the surface of the green glass is coated with a solution or suspension of lithium salt prior to ceramic conversion. In an alternative embodiment the green glass surface is coated by an organic compound that breaks down to lithium salt during ceramic conversion. The lithium salt has a m.p. of at least 720[deg] C. The coating is then dried. If necessary the coating and drying processes are repeated until the coating lithium ion content reaches 10 to 5000 mg Li+/m2. The coated green glass is then subject to ceramic conversion.</p>
