The device has a pressure limiting unit (1) made of duroplastic material including a phenol molding material filled with glass fibers or glass spheres (2). The phenol molding material is networked by tempering. The limiting unit is designed as a pressure limiting case. The limiting unit is provided between a plastic part and a metallic component. The plastic part and the metallic component are fastened by a screw. The pressure limiting unit is provided in a connecting area of an intake manifold made of plastic, and a cylinder head made of metal, in an internal-combustion engine.
