The method involves determining an influence of coupling coefficients on performance of a transmission channel, and selecting a set of coupling coefficients to be treated for selecting the coupling coefficients having large influence in a square matrix. The coupling coefficient is selected when an extension of a value of signal to noise ratio calculated without considering the coupling coefficients, to the value of the signal to noise ratio calculated considering the coupling coefficient is less than a margin related to a predefined flow loss. Independent claims are also included for the following: (1) a computer program product downloadable from a computer network, recorded on a computer readable medium and having program code instructions for implementing an interference processing method (2) a network equipment connected to a transmission channel.
