The module (7) has a control command interface unit to receive a control command, and coupled with a bus. A control device is coupled with the control command interface unit and influences a test-environment parameter e.g. oxygen content, based upon the control command. An interface unit is coupled to the control command interface unit and outputs the received control command. The control device evaluates the control command to ascertain a set value for the test-environment parameter. Independent claims are also included for the following: (1) a control system for influencing a set of test-environment parameters of an incubation system (2) a microscope configuration comprising a microscope system (3) a method for controlling a microscope configuration (4) a computer-readable medium having computer-executable instructions for performing a method to control a microscope configuration.
